Workshop: Lost (in) Nature

New concert format combines climate issues and music

Date: Sunday, August 11 and Monday, August 12, 2024

An innovative concert format brings together everyday climate issues and music in one event. The aim is to draw attention to the climate crisis without accusations and to offer everyday solutions. The focus is on regional issues that directly affect us, which are presented in a solution-oriented way and without pointing a finger. The events are intended to inspire visitors to make changes in their own everyday lives.

The initiators Sophia Schambeck (recorders and conception) and Salome Ryser (conception), who met during their studies and have been making music together for several years, came up with the idea of combining music and climate issues. At the heart of the new concert format is a sound installation performance with Marta Haladzhun (composition), which sheds light on the importance of nature for us and raises the question whether and why it is worth protecting nature. This performance integrates space, sound, improvisation, and music from different eras and extends the workshop from the last festival. During the sound installation, the audience can let the impressions sink in and search for answers themselves. This concert format offers a unique opportunity to engage musically and thematically with one of the most pressing problems of our time. It is intended to inspire people to take action and make climate-friendly decisions in their own everyday lives. An inspiring evening full of music and sustainable ideas.
