Friends of the Young Artists Festival Bayreuth

Our Friends association was founded on 10.07.2007 under the name “Förderer junger Künstler Bayreuth e. V.” (Friends of the Young Artists Festival Bayreuth) and has the sole objective of supporting the internationally renowned Festival in all of its cultural and political work, as well as securing its long-term future.

The main purposes of the association include bringing together friends of the Festival from all segments of the population, and providing financial support for art, culture and the international advancement of youth and intercultural understanding through the common language of music. In this way, the association helps to secure the Festival’s long-term existence – 2020 marked the Festival’s 70th year – and its rich tradition for years to come. In addition, the association also provides non-financial support in order to enhance the image and increase awareness of the Young Artists Festival Bayreuth. Our supporters make a significant contribution to maintaining cultural diversity and ensuring artistic quality in the town of Bayreuth and its surrounding region, as well as in Bavaria and around the world.

The membership community currently has over 1,000 members.

Your support ensures that the internationally renowned Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth can fulfil its political responsibility of promoting intercultural understanding and the superior education of the next generation of artists.

Your support also enables highly qualified young artists, who could not afford to attend on their own, to come together on a rehearsal stage for the world’s youth in Bayreuth.

In addition, your support also helps us to afford the necessary number of events in order to accomodate all aspiring artists and cultural managers, providing them a forum where they can present to the public the skills they have acquired here. Your commitment creates a solid basis for the positive and continued development and future careers of the young participants – without the restrictions of particular geographical and cultural boundaries.
